Roger Sahota writes for Red Notice Monitor – Russia’s Exclusion from the Red Notice system is long overdue

Shortly after the launch of the invasion of Ukraine in March of this year Interpol announced that it was taking steps to restrict Russia’s ability to publish Red Notices on its global database of wanted international criminals.

Writing in his capacity as one of the editors of the Red Notice Monitor, BSQ partner Roger Sahota comments on this development arguing that the exclusion of Russia is long overdue.
Roger argues that Interpol has long been complacent about the abuse of its procedures for political reasons by certain member states. Interpol needs to take a harder line to ensure that this type of abuse – which is not just confined to Russia – does not become a regular feature of international relations.
