Another Not Guilty Verdict in Privately Funded Sexual Assault Case
BSQ are pleased to report another successful outcome for our Private Crime team. Our client, a businessman of previously unblemished character, has been found not guilty of two charges of sexual assault following a seven-day trial at the Crown Court. The jury returned unanimous verdicts of acquittal on all counts.
Roger Sahota, Partner at BSQ and Head of our Private Crime department, acted in the case with trial counsel Sarah Forshaw KC of 5 King’s Bench Walk.
This marks the fifth successive acquittal in sexual misconduct trials handled by Roger Sahota and BSQ since 2023—further solidifying Roger’s reputation as one of the UK’s foremost defence lawyers for professionals facing serious allegations.
In addition to trial representation, our team has a strong record of preventing cases from reaching court. Through carefully prepared pre-charge submissions, we have successfully persuaded the Crown Prosecution Service and police to drop investigations before charges are brought on many pccassions. For instance, earlier this year, BSQ’s Patrick O’Hanlon secured the discontinuance of a controlling and coercive behaviour allegation with sexual connotations involving the CEO of a company.
