The Crime Prosecution Service (CPS)
The CPS is headed by Keir Starmer, who is superintended by the Attorney General, accountable to Parliament for the service. The CPS is divided into 42 areas across England and Wales, a virtual area called CPS Direct which provides charging advice to the public and three special divisions.
The three special divisions are the Organised Crime division, the Counter Terrorism division and the Special Crime division. The Special Crime Division supports the main service by providing specialised advice on national disasters, corporate manslaughter, deaths in custody, serious public corruption and appellate work.
We assist individuals and companies in investigations and prosecutions conducted by all divisions of the CPS and have particular experience of dealing with it’s specialist units.
