Higher Courts Department Our in-house advocacy department enables us to provide a seamless and cost effective service. The head of department is Jonathan Black. Jonathan originally trained as a barrister before qualifying as a solicitor. BSB partners Roger Sahota and James Skelsey and solicitors Manjit Dogra, Johanna Berry and Richard Parry all have higher rights of audience. We also retain the services of a Consultant Solicitor Advocate, Mark Hardie of Alverstone Chambers. All our Higher Courts Advocates practice regularly in the Crown Courts and before the Court of Appeal and are members of the Solicitors Association of Higher Courts Advocates (SAHCA).
