Restraint Orders

Restraint Orders are usually imposed on individuals who are being investigated in relation to serious crime or fraud where there are significant amounts of money involved.

The first point that a restraint order may be imposed is on your arrest and interview under caution; it may however be imposed on you at a later stage in the proceedings.

A restraint order will impose restrictions on all your financial dealings. Initially you will usually be limited to spending around £250 per week toward your living expenses. It is however possible to apply to have your restraint order varied so that you can access more of your funds.

When you are first notified of a restraint order it is important that you contact a lawyer who knows how to handle the order and is able to act swiftly so that you can effectively and expediently manage your finances.
