Cheating the Revenue
Revenue and Customs reserves the right to prosecute the very broadly defined offence of cheating the revenue.
The offence enables Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office (RCPO) to prosecute any offence which has the effect of defrauding moines from Her Majesty’s Revenue. Many different acts may therefore be caught by this offence and it is designed to capture all types of fraud on the revenue both old and new.
BSB Solicitors has a large amount of experience in defending Revenue and Customs led prosecutions and have recently secured the acquittal of an accountant charged with cheating the revenue of up £5 million.
