BSB Defends accountant in multi million pound Revenue and Customs prosecution

BSB partners Paul Butcher and Jonathan Black have successfully defended an accountant accused of cheating the revenue out of millions of pounds in unpaid PAYE and personal tax liabilities.

Revenue and Customs had investigated the case for over ten years and invested hundreds of man hours in investigating and prosecuting the case.

After nearly a three month trial, our client was acquitted of all nine counts on the indictment. The client's co-accused was convicted and sentenced to six years imprisonment.

The result can be attributed to BSB's diligent and through preparation of the case and the efficient instruction of expert leading counsel Alan Newman QC.
